Maximum time / cut off times
At the energy stations, a rope is pulled at a specific time. This means that it is not possible to continue the race after that. This is for your safety. If you have passed the last rope, i.e. Nordliften or Slättvålen, in the right time, then just continue towards the goal - it doesn't close until everyone is back home!
OUTNORTH TRAILTOUR
Trail of the Reindeer 45 k is part of the Outnorth Trailtour.
Number bibs
Here you collect your number bib and hat, and ask any questions. The number bib distribution can be found at the square on Idre Fjäll.
Opening hours:
Friday at 11.00–21.00
Saturday 7.00–21.00
Please note that no start certificate is sent out, you pick up your number bib by showing your ID and start number. We will send out start numbers via SMS at 11.00 the day before the race .
Number bib
There is a timing chip on the number bib, the number bib must be worn clearly visible on the chest or leg. It is important that it is on the outermost part of your clothes, otherwise there is a risk that the chip will not be registered at the timing devices that you pass.
Feel free to bring your own safety pins to attach the number plate - reuse is good! For those who run 28 k or 45 k, there is a map of the course printed on the back of your number bib.
Change of name or class
Name changes can be made for a fee of SEK 200.
Class changes can be made for the registration fee that applies at the time in question. No money will be refunded for changing to a shorter class.
You make your own changes in the notification system. The last day for class and name changes is three days before the race.
Mandatory equipment
For those participating in the 28 km and 45 km classes, the following equipment is mandatory:
- windbreaker
- extra undershirt
- container for liquid, at least 0.5 litres
- hat and gloves
- first aid (link to Apoteket's first aid)
- whistle
- number bib with timing chip (on the back is a map of your course)
- telephone with emergency number entered (it is on your number plate)
For the 8 and 18 km class, the number bib and timing chip are the only mandatory equipment.
Toilets
Toilets are available at the arena, as well as at the energy stations.
The course
The courses are marked with flags and kilometer signs in the terrain. Pay attention where the courses split so you choose the right path. The hiking trails up on the mountain are partly rocky and there are ledges laid out in some places. These parts can be slippery during rainfall. Be careful!
Please note that running shoes with metal studs are not allowed to be used on any of the distances! This is to protect our beautiful nature. However, you are welcome to run with poles if you wish.
Energy stations
Remember that it is important to continuously get fluids and energy early in the race. At our energy stations, you can recharge new energy so that you can continue to shoot forward over the mountain. All have Enervit's sports drink and water, as well as good things to chew on. At the energy stations, you can also stock up on provisions and take drinks with you so that you can make it to the next station. For those of you who want to refill your bottles, there are cans with a tap so you can do it yourself.
Feel free to bring your own cup to use at the energy stations, then fewer paper cups are used, they are recyclable - but still.
Use hand sanitizer before taking anything from the energy stations, same thing at the finish line.
THE BONUS: At the race's premiere in 2018, Ola at Sven Foskdal's cabin took his own – and super nice – initiative to create an extra fluid station for the 45 km runners. It was very much appreciated and Ola is excited to serve water and energy drinks again this year. After just under 20 km, you come to the beautiful place – make sure to enjoy it.
Race rules
In order for everything to be fair and work as well as possible, we have set up some simple rules.
Respect the reindeer
We run in reindeer grazing land, therefore show the utmost respect for animals and nature. It is forbidden to disturb or try to approach reindeer, should they be on the path - take a detour, it won't cost you much time.
Can I bring the dog into the race?
No, you can't. Partly out of consideration for other runners who may be afraid of dogs, but also out of an accessibility and safety aspect for all runners because large parts of the course are on narrow paths. So the dog has stay at home.
Littering
...along the course is of course completely prohibited and immediately leads to disqualification. This is important, we are guests in nature!
There are garbage bags at the energy stations. Remember to sort your waste - the mugs are recyclable like paper packaging and are thrown away in bags marked "Mugs".
If you have enough
If you are forced to leave the race for any reason, go to the number bib distribution and notify the staff that you have left the race. This is important, so that a search effort is not started when you are actually sitting in the sauna.
First Aid/healthcare
First aid equipment is available at all energy stations. Medical care is available next to the arena at Idre Fjäll. If something happens so that you need help, call the emergency number that is on your number bib and that you must enter in your phone before starting. It goes to a healthcare coordinator. In case of serious accident or illness - always call 112 immediately!
Shower
Free shower in the sports hall at Idre Fjäll after the race.
Price giving ceremony
Everyone who completes their race receives the Craft Idre Fjällmaraton's medal. Honorary prizes to the top five in 45k, and to the top three in 28k, 18k and 8k. The award ceremony takes place during De Oslagbaras Timme. Then we will also raffle great prizes among all successful participants. The prize table has a total value of approximately SEK 150,000. To participate in the raffle, bring your number bib and leave it in a bag before De Oslagbaras Timme starts.
De Oslagbaras Timme (The Hour of the Invincible)
During De Oslagbaras Timme, we receive the last heroes from the mountain, we also pay tribute to the best in each class during the award ceremony. And we're raffling off a bunch of prizes among all of you who have completed their race. NOTE: Bring your number bib and leave it in the lottery bag!
